Ever smoke a cigar too strong to finish?

I have recently encountered two cigars that were simply too strong to finish.  One was the San Lotano Habano and the other a Cuba Aliados Miami Limitado Robusto.  Don’t get me wrong, I love these cigars.  Both have tremendous flavor and balance and I keep going back to them; but they need to be smoked in stages.  They are simply too strong for me to smoke at one sitting.  Now that’s not necessarily a bad thing.  It makes for a very satisfying nicotine fix, but these are not sticks I can not smoke casually. This leads me to wonder what other cigars people are having trouble “getting through”.  Please let me know…Thanks,

Joe

recently made a rash decision to buy a box of J Fuego 777 maduro. it wasnt the strength that had me not wanting to finish but the overwhelming bitterness. I didnt remember that from the one or two that I’ve had before this box buy. I like Fuego smokes but these simply seem to need some mellow time. Hopefully, Im not going to regret having a whole box of these. If four to six months doesnt turn them around…..SOL I guess. I figured they just need some mellow time in the humidor.

The only cigar I have had this experience with in recent memory is the LFD Airbender Chisel. I smoked it on an empty stomach and had to put it down about halfway and eat something. Have not had this issue with any other Airbenders, just the chisel, it is a balls to the wall smoke.
Looking forward to trying the Cuba Aliados Miami Limitado.
I love the San Lotano Habano.

I’ve had LFD Double Ligero, having one right now for breakfast, Cain F, MOW Ruination with no issues, but the only cigar that has given me the shakes/buzz is the El Batón. It has great flavors, but it definitely packs a knockout punch.

I have not had the Cuba Aliados Miami Limitado Robusto, however; the San Lotano Habano is a wonderful smoke. I am working my way through my second box already. The only cigar that I felt was too strong to finsih was the prototype for the Punisher (soon to be released to brick and mortar stores). When I first began to smoke cigars, many were too strong for my taste, but now that my palate has become more educated, I find that fullre bodied, more complex, and stronger cigars are quite pleasing. I won’t smoke some on an empty stomach, but I find nearly all to be “smokable.”
Of course, that does not mean I will smoke something that is harsh, acrid, or bitter. If the cigar is well flavored, and balanced, I will give it a try, and so far, finished most of them.

The lfd double ligero is the only cigar I have ever smoked that has given me pause to stop. The limited edition cigar that is 9 or 10 inches long with a 50 plus ring gauge is a powerhouse. Down to the last three inches or so and had to put it down as my body was on nicotine overload. Great smoke but after two hours on this monster stick I hit the wall. I smoke lfd double ligero on a regular basis but this extra long smoke was too much.
