I traditionally prefer a nice sipping drink such as a cognac or rum, but one of my friend’s turned me on to drinking one of his home-brewed Port (Portugese or Dessert) wines.
Ironically enough it was a pleasant match, and now I am hooked on the combination.

Recommend Smith Woodhouse 1995 Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) for a fine ruby; this is bottled unfiltered but if poured carefully does not need to be decanted. Other than this I usually drink 10 or 20 year tawny port.
